Brother David Andrews, CSC
 

Brother David Andrews, CSC is a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross and is the Executive Director of the National Catholic Rural Life Conference (NCRLC) based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Besides serving as a Director for the Organization for Competitive Markets, Brother David is a long time member of the Ecumenical Rural Church Network, organizing its annual public policy meeting in Washington DC; is a member of the board of directors of the National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture; and works with the Board of Agricultural Missions affiliated with the National Council of Churches and the Community Food Security Coalition. Appointed by Iowa Governor Vilsack, he serves on the Iowa Food Policy Council and serves on the board of directors for SHAUN, a counseling service for disabled farm families in Iowa.

NCRLC is a recognized international leader on rural life, food systems, farm policy and the environment, providing an unwavering voice in support of family farmers and ranchers, rural communities and fair trade while bringing a moral perspective to these issues.

Brother David serves as a consultant with the Domestic Policy Committee of the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops and has been a consultant for the Roman Catholic Church in the U.S. and attended the World Food Summit in Rome and the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.

Brother David has presented over 100 workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada on a variety of rural life topics, produced videos on rural life, edited books on rural ministry and taught rural ministry courses in several seminaries across America. Brother David completed his law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1994.

In August 2005, Brother David was presented with the "Excellence in Practice and Application Award" by the Rural Sociological Society during its 68th annual meeting in Tampa, Florida.
